Social Sharing Plugin – Free and why I’m loving it!
level Advanced

I have tried a ridiculous amount of social sharing plugins on this site as well as simply coding in my sharing buttons. It seems there is always something wonky that ends up happening or the plugin doesn’t like another plugin (or my self-hosted videos).

You know what I’m talking about, right?

Take this scenario:

You install the plugin, it looks good, you configure it to share to social media sites and all is well.

Then there’s an update.

The layout has changed, it shows up somewhere else, throws off your widgets, doesn’t work, you name it.

This makes me cookoo!

I also wanted something that looks good on my site and won’t clash with the colors (I know, this is totally a personal preference, but it matters to me, what can I say?).
was THRILLED when I found this plugin via a post from WP Lift (btw, if you don’t know this site or haven’t subscribed, he shares a ton of info. about WordPress, DAILY! He’s part of my daily scouring of what is happening with WordPress). The name of the plugin is actually “Juiz Social Post Sharer.” (I’m going to go out on a limb here and say the name is relative to the developer who is listed in the WordPress Plugin directory as CreativeJuiz).

Before we get to the video take note that I have the plugin installed an active on my site. You can see the share buttons at the top of this post. I’m not someone that wants to put every social sharing button available on my site (there are WAY too many social sharing sites available nowadays. I have a hard time keeping up with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest and YouTube). I just want to have the buttons for the sites that I spend more time on, and even then I can’t say that I’m stellar about that (yet ;-)… never say never).
Here is the list of social networks supported:

  • Digg
  • Facebook
  • Google+
  • LinkedIn
  • Pinterest
  • StumleUpon
  • Twitter
  • Viadeo
  • Email

I’ll cover the different options for the plugin in the video, so you’ll get a full glimpse into what templates come with the plugin and your options.

The audio is pretty quiet on this (me speaking- I know, hard to believe)- so you might want to turn your speakers up.
